The Overhaul modification is our standard modification to improve all generations of Big Muff fuzz pedals. Key component changes tweak the sound and open up the tone of the pedal. The Overhaul also includes an added Body Knob which allows for fine-tuning of the midrange frequencies. The stock tone knob still switches from bass to treble and the added knob shifts the middle frequency levels. Also included is a 3-way Timbre Toggle Switch shown in the video below. The three options include Stock (value used in most recent Big Muff reissues), Balanced, and Wooly. If you feel the reissues sound too much like a distortion pedal and don’t have the thick fuzz tones of the older models then this is a great addition.
The Clean Knob works great for bass and guitar. It allows you to adjust the volume of your clean tone while using the original volume to adjust the volume of the fuzz.. Works great to keep the tight rumble of bass guitar or to add a new dimension to your guitar. Only available as an add-on with the Overhaul mod.
