Electro Harmonix Micro Synthesizer & Bass Synthesizer

The Micro Synthesizer pedals have been revised a few times over the years but still are based around the same design of an envelope filter, an octave / fuzz mixer, and a slow volume effect all in one pedal. The combination of these effects allow you to not only emulate a synthesizer but also give you a wide range of other tones. Unfortunately without presets the pedal’s potential is really limiting during live use. The modifications that we offer make the pedal a bit more user friendly for live performances.

As always we offer True Bypass which prevents your signal from being negatively affected when the pedal is bypassed. For the full-size Micro Synth we convert the Power LED to turn on when the pedal is activated rather than install a new LED. The smaller “nano” series is already true bypass from the factory.

The Expression Pedal modification allows you to use a Moog EP-3 Expression Pedal to control the Start Frequency or Stop Frequency with an expression pedal. This modification installs a 1/4″ jack which bypasses the stock control and allows it to be controlled via an expression pedal. This modification is designed and tested with a Moog EP-3; there is no support for other expression pedals. An expression pedal is not included with the mod.

The Voice Mix Bypass Switch allows you to bypass the Voice Mix section. If you turn down Sub Octave, Octave, and Square Wave then turn up Guitar to full that is what your pedal will sound like with the Voice Mix bypassed. This makes the pedal sound like a more traditional envelope filter and still allows you to switch back to your default Voice Mix slider settings.  Inside of the pedal will be a new trimpot to adjust the clean volume when the voice section is bypassed. A dual-color LED is installed to indicate which state the pedal is in; This replaces the power LED on the full-size model.

The Attack Delay Bypass Jack mod installs a 1/4″ jack which allows you to use a footswitch to bypass the Attack Delay feature. The Attack Delay slider controls the time in which the effect slowly fades in to full volume. The bypass jack allows you to use any standard latching footswitch (with or without LED, not included with the mod) to turn off the Attack Delay.

Our Standard Overhaul consists of installing an expression pedal jack for the Stop Frequency slider and installing the Voice Mix Bypass Switch.

Our Deluxe Overhaul consists of the mods in the Standard Overhaul and also adds a second expression pedal jack for the Start Frequency and the Attack Delay bypass jack.
