The MXR Carbon Copy is a recent favorite for being a compact analog-delay pedal that not only sounds great but is affordable as well. With 600 milliseconds of delay time it is not only a flexible delay but is also a great candidate for our Tap Tempo delay conversion.
The original model of the MXR Carbon Copy did not have static protection which causes many of these pedals to randomly stop working. Typical symptoms include bypass working, the pedal powering up fine (no shorts, no smoke), the LED may or may not work, but no signal when the pedal is turned on. The V2 update will install static protection on the switching diodes and if the pedal is broken we can replace the switching FETs for an additional fee.
Our External Modulation Controls mod moves the internal trim pots to the outside of the pedal allowing you to quickly dial in the settings you’re looking for. Two knobs will be installed to control the Rate and the Depth.
The other modification that we offer includes rehousing the pedal and installing features like tap tempo. Please check out our dedicated Tap Tempo page for more information on this mod.
